Hello, my name is Naomy Rodriguez. My major is Law and Society, but it used to be Forensic Science. One interesting fact about me was that I was commander of an AFJROTC unit. Through JROTC i was able to earn my private pilot’s license and an IT Fundamentals certification. My potential career is a lawyer.
It is not what I had originally envisioned but it is something I am very interested in doing. My ultimate goal in life is to have enough money to buy a large house with my own private library (I love reading books).The purpose of writing in the sciences
is to convey scientific findings to a wide range of audiences. Additionally, it
provides information without biases. Writing serves a huge purpose in my field.
As a lawyer I need to be proficient when preparing the case arguments, briefs,
and other legal documents. The words and phrases I write can have a huge impact
on the meaning of these legal documents. As mentioned earlier, scientists need
writing to share information.
I only write for homework
assignments or exams. In everyday life I write when I’m emailing my managers, peers,
and professors. However, I do not like to write. It has never been interesting
or something I have look forward to doing. Despite this, I consider myself a
decent writer based on comments and feedback given to me by my previous
professors.
On the topic of reading, I enjoy reading about everything. However, if I had to choose, I would say I enjoy reading about crime and human rights issues. My preferred mode of learning is teacher centered. While student centered discussions could be beneficial, I do believe they tend to go off track. I never liked group work because most of the work tends to lie on me or there is a huge lack of communication.
